Lech sits in a snow hole with it's own microclimateproducing impressive snow records from December through to the end of April . No other region gets more snow than Lech in Austria during this period. It also has links, not with near by Zurs, but with a network of resorts in this part of Arlberg, including St Anton. There are plenty of routes in Lech, actually there is 34 routes for beginners, 70 for intermediates and 30 for advanced.

Whatever level you have, Lech is the perfect place to ski.

Beginners -  Lech offers gentle nursery slopes which are situated beside the village centre.

Intermediates -  Lech have tremendous terrain and lots of opportunities open up via the central of Schlegelkopf. you can access the slopes of Zurs from the other side of Lech.

Advanced -  Lech offers the best off piste with plenty of black runs and routes. Although not exclusive to the advanced skiier, while here you must take in the stunning terrain of the 'White Circle' ski tour of Lech and Zurs.

With pistes above 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season. Lech resort has a snowboard park Lech offers well prepared slopes for carving and steep slopes and cliffs with untouched powder for the more experienced. Guests can live an overwhelming free ride experience.

Family Ski Holidays In Lech

For families Planet suggest the satellite resort of Oberlech which is situated about 200m above the main resort of Lech. Oberlech has it's own kindergarden and nurser slopes making it perfect for a family ski holiday. This is also a car free area and so only accessable by cable car from Lech (which runs up until 0100 am).

Activities & Nightlife In Lech

Lech has a good selection or eateries and a choice of bars for a spot of Apres Ski. Apparently more champagne is consumed in Lech than in any other Austrian Ski Resort, along with Snaps and steaming glasses of gluhwein. However this is far from the party town that perhaps St Anton is.
