Snowsports In Kaprun
Kaprun is one of the most popular resorts in Austria with lots on offer for all levels, it’s located at the foot of the Kitzsteinhom Glacier that reaches up 3203m, providing reliable snow form November right through to May. The skiing season in Kaprun resort starts early autumn and extends to early summer. The three resorts of the Europa Sport Region are just a few kilometers apart and share three main ski areas; The Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, Schmittenhöhe and Maiskogel.
Skiing
Kaprun or Kaprun-Zell am See lies within the Europa Sport Region which links the 3 Austrain ski resorts of Kaprun, Kitzsteinhorn and Zell am See under one lift ticket. It offers an excellent range of piste and terrain, including high altitude piste with guaranteed snow. The resorts themselves are connected by regular ski bus.
Beginners - Gentle nursery slopes are found beside the village centre, on the Lechnerberg. With excellent instruction from the Kaprun ski school, beginners can progress on the numerous easy runs of the Maiskogel and the Kitzsteinghom Glacier.
Intermediates - The range of skiing in and around Kaprun is truly incredible. Over 130kms of pistes and 58 lifts are available in the Kaprun-Zell am See Resort and across the Europa Sport Region.
Advanced - Accomplished skiers will be able to go on wide-open pistes with superb powder of the glacier. There are seven exciting black runs throughout the region. There are especially challenging and exhilarating pistes on Zell See’s Schmittenhöhe Mountain and the Maiskogel has some great off piste on powder days.
Snowboarding
The ride area is located on one of Austria’s best glaciers, the Kitzsteinhom Glacier which is about 3.203 metres, making it a perfect place to ride. As it is a glacier resort you can ride here all year, and riders of all levels will be catered. However, it best suits to intermediate freeriders and piste lovers.
Activities And Nightlife In Kaprun
Kaprun resort has the Optimum Sports and spa Centre, and also indoor tennis, squash centre, bowling and sledging.
