Andermatt is an isolated village located in the Urseren valley, in central Switzerland only two hours from Zurich. In addition, the former barracks of this Swiss garrison village, are being developed to include six high end hotels and there are plans for a ski lift to link Andermatt with neighbouring Sedrun. This backwater resort has been thrust into the limelight and is now revered by many others in the ski industry. Development aside, this atmospheric Swiss village offers a ski holiday with every luxury added to of enhance the experience.

Snowsports In Andermatt

At an altitude of 1,444m, and with its plentiful snow in between if the Nätschen and Gemsstock Mountains. Part of the SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun ski area, skiing here is some of the best in Europe. The slopes are steep and challenging with less demanding runs for the novice skier. The more ambitious skier uses the two stage cable car up the Gemsstock to be challenged by the three ways down the front. There are two extremely steep black runs for the more cautious skier and there is a winding red run to negotiate. Skiers with guides are frequently seen trying the off-piste descents down the back of the mountain.
