Schladming in Austria is a large resort, in the beautiful Dachstein Mountain region, and part of the Skiverbun Amade area which includes Reiteralm, Amade, Hochkonig, Grobarl and Gastein.
Schladming is best suited to intermediate skiers and snowboarders with some terrain for beginners. This area offers some superb diverse pistes, there are pretty lined runs to the more challenging downhill used annually for the Men’s world cup.

Snowsports In Schladming
Schladming is part of the Schladming 4-mountain ski area within the Schladming-Dachstein which in turn is part of the Ski Amadé ski area, the second largest ski area in Europe covered by a single ski pass. The Schladming 4-mountain ski complex links the 4 largest Styrian ski mountains – Planai, Hauser Kaibling, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm. Based at Schladming you also benefit from the year-round skiing on the Dachstein Glacier.
Skiing
Beginners – The excellent Schladming ski school at Rohrmoos and the Planai nursery areas are extremely well ordered with gentle blues. The lower slopes of Rohrmoos are suitable for novices.
Intermediates – With its predominantly north facing slopes the Schladming area is first rates for intermediates with some lovely cruise pistes and long runs such as the 4.6 km FIS run and the almost 8 km Hochwurzen valley run.
Advanced – For the advanced skiers there are two world class downhill runs of 5 kms each in the Schladming area. The Planai itself boast a couple of bumpy black runs.
Snowboarding
This resort is convenient for snowboarders; it provides a terrain park, with a steep chutes and cliffs. From beginners to pros, regardless of ability level, everyone finds just what they’ve been looking for.
